About The Position

This posting is for multiple Food Service Ambassador openings at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital in Spokane, Washington. Part-time and supplemental/per diem opportunities are available. The role performs essential duties related to patients’ nutritional care and food service. Food Service Ambassadors receive patient and caregiver telephone calls for food orders and diet-order communication, accurately enter orders into a computer, and process caregiver diet orders through EPIC. They also assist with meal delivery and tray-line activities. The role requires effective communication and strong public-relations interpersonal skills, a working knowledge of therapeutic diets, compatibility with co-workers, and compliance with confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements

National Food Handler Card from the state, county, or city authority upon hire.
Working knowledge of therapeutic diets.

Nice To Haves

Coursework or training in nutrition or hospitality.
One year of experience in a food service operation.
Two years of progressive experience in a large-scale food service operation or hospital.

Responsibilities

Receive patient and caregiver telephone calls for food orders and diet-order communication.
Accurately enter food orders into a computer.
Accurately and efficiently process diet orders placed by caregivers through EPIC.
Assist with delivering meals to patients.
Support tray-line activities.
Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers and demonstrate strong public-relations interpersonal skills.
Comply with confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines and work compatibly with co-workers.
