About The Position

Serves completed meal trays to patients professionally and efficiently, instructs patients on the meal-ordering system, and helps patients or family members place meal orders as needed. The role also maintains nursing-unit floor pantry supplies and supports tray assembly and meal delivery operations.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Three months of food service experience.
• Ability to read, measure accurately, and perform basic math skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Meet the listed physical demands, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, and repetitive hand or arm use.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to patients in a professional and efficient manner.
• Assist patients and/or family members with placing meal orders.
• Complete orders for bulk floor supplies on nursing units.
• Retrieve completed meals from patients’ rooms in a timely manner.
• Check meals for accuracy and adherence to appropriate diet orders.
• Work positions on the tray assembly line.
• Follow proper food-handling techniques according to HACCP and local agencies.
• Keep the nursing-unit floor pantry stocked.
• Instruct patients on the meal-ordering system.
