About The Position

The Food Server greets guests, takes and enters orders, serves food and beverages, and provides courteous, efficient service in accordance with department and company standards. The role requires familiarity with menu offerings, specials, food preparation, and prices, as well as the ability to anticipate guest needs and address concerns promptly. The server also completes assigned side work and daily tasks.

Requirements

• Excellent guest service skills.
• Ability to operate a point-of-sale system and/or adding machine, handle money, and make change.
• Basic and adequate mathematical skills.
• Ability to work varied shifts and hours.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Six months of experience as a server in a dining establishment.
• Previous cash-handling experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly with a smile and pleasant disposition.
• Know the menu, daily specials, food preparation, and prices.
• Use suggestive selling for items such as cocktails, appetizers, and desserts.
• Take guest orders and accurately enter them into the computer.
• Anticipate guest needs, clear tables between courses, and keep beverages filled.
• Present the check for payment after guest needs have been met.
• Complete assigned side work and additional daily tasks.
• Serve complete orders using trays and food covers, including sides and accompaniments, efficiently and according to service standards.
• Check that guests are enjoying their meals and promptly address problems, notifying the Assistant Restaurant Manager on duty.
• Inform the Assistant Restaurant Manager about guest or team-member situations that cannot be handled directly.
• Serve food and beverages quickly, efficiently, and courteously.
• Support and promote superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
