About The Position

The Hilton Milwaukee is seeking a part-time Café Server to provide food and beverage service in a friendly, courteous, timely, and professional manner, tailoring the Café experience to each guest and supporting a high level of guest satisfaction. This is an hourly, union position with morning, weekend, and holiday shifts available. The stated pay rate is $7.46 per hour.

The Hilton Milwaukee is a historic downtown Milwaukee hotel and the city’s largest hotel, connected to the expanded Baird Center. It recently completed a $40 million renovation. It is a division of Marcus Hotels & Resorts, which describes itself as focused on operational and service excellence and on expanding its U.S.-based portfolio of 15 hotels and resorts.

Requirements

• Innate desire to serve and ability to maintain service and departmental standards.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
• Ability to learn table settings, service ware, and menu items.
• Proficiency in English for menu comprehension, recording orders, and guest communication.
• Ability to recall and promote menu items.
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and clean uniform.

Nice To Haves

• Prior food, beverage, cash handling, and hospitality experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and explain specials and promotions.
• Record and enter guest orders into the Point of Sale system.
• Retrieve, confirm, and deliver orders with condiments, and follow liquor regulations.
• Replenish beverages and ensure guest satisfaction.
• Collect payment, thank guests, and invite them to return.
• Complete side work and cleaning tasks, including restocking and replenishing condiments.
• Maintain self-banking procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager.
