About The Position

The Food Server/Bar/Cook provides prompt, courteous service to guests and maintains a positive, accommodating attitude. The role includes explaining menu items, preparation methods, prices, and daily or weekly specials; communicating food shortages to guests; accommodating kitchen-approved special requests; and promoting menu items and specials to increase food and beverage revenue. The position also performs pre- and post-shift side work, handles guest payments through the cashier, gathers and relays guest feedback, responds to requests, and may support greeting, seating, and table-clearing duties. Employees are expected to maintain a professional appearance and follow company policies and procedures. Other duties may be assigned by a supervisor or management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive and accommodating attitude when interacting with customers.
• Stay informed about kitchen or food shortages and communicate shortages to guests when necessary.
• Learn daily and weekly specials and explain menu items and their preparation methods to customers.
• Describe menu items, preparation methods, and prices as needed or requested.
• Ensure kitchen-approved special requests are fulfilled.
• Upsell established menu items and specials to maximize food and beverage revenues.
• Serve menu items promptly and courteously according to established service standards.
• Complete pre- and post-shift side work, including stocking the service station and making coffee.
• Forward customer payments to the cashier, receive change, and return it promptly to the guest.
• Receive customer feedback about the dining experience and relay it to appropriate management.
• Respond quickly and in a friendly manner to guest requests, report serious requests to the appropriate supervisor, and follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Assist the Greeter/Cashier with greeting and seating guests when needed.
• Assist the bus person with clearing tables and filling glasses when needed.
• Maintain a professional image through appearance and dress.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties assigned by a supervisor or management.
