About The Position

The Floral Manager is a primary customer contact who provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service. The role is accountable for the floral department’s customer service, sales, profits, and cost control. The manager supervises floral clerks, plans schedules with Store Director approval, follows merchandising guidelines, designs floral arrangements, manages inventory and orders, and maintains the department’s displays and cleanliness. The position also involves customer problem resolution, operating a cash register and helium tank, watering plants, and monitoring company communications.

Requirements

• Ability to follow company customer service procedures.
• Demonstrated prior customer service skills or related experience.
• Ability to interact with customers and coworkers.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Previous experience or training as a floral clerk or designer.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service according to company procedures and policies.
• Train, schedule, and supervise floral clerks to ensure appropriate staffing.
• Prepare the Floral Department schedule for Store Director approval.
• Implement the merchandising plan in accordance with Division guidelines.
• Resolve customer concerns related to sales, service, or floral department operations.
• Design floral arrangements for display and individual customer needs.
• Manage inventory according to company policies and practices to support sales and profits.
• Conduct daily inventory and order supplies needed to maintain adequate stock.
• Prepare and enter floral department orders into the computer.
• Stock and maintain floral displays, removing expired items from shelves daily.
• Operate a helium tank to inflate balloons.
• Water plants using sprayers and containers.
• Maintain cleanliness in the floral area.
• Operate the cash register.
• Check inter-office mail and the company web page daily for updates.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
