About The Position

The Floral/Dept Leader implements company and division policies to maximize Floral department sales and profits while role-modeling the company's values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. The position leads the department's operations, including customer service, floral order processing, receiving, stocking, pricing, merchandising, ordering, recordkeeping, and housekeeping. The leader trains and supervises direct reports, supports company initiatives and process improvements, and reviews department performance to identify and recommend changes.

Working knowledge of floral arrangement and care of plants and cut flowers.

Responsibilities

Develop customer relations through personal example of friendliness and courtesy and by implementing company policies; handle customer complaints perceptively.
Receive, process, and produce Florist Transworld Delivery orders for delivery.
Coach and train associates on pricing, price marking, rotation, stocking, customer courtesy, and productivity.
Provide active support for the Customer 1st culture.
Plan, organize, direct, and control Floral Department activities.
Direct the receiving, storing, pricing, and merchandising of floral products.
Order products and supplies to maintain adequate stock and guard against waste and pilferage.
Maintain and submit required records and reports and use them effectively.
Maintain effective housekeeping in all areas.
Continuously analyze the department and periodically make changes or recommendations to the store manager.
Promote, communicate, and implement company initiatives and process improvements with direct reports in a positive manner.
Supervise and coach direct reports, complete performance reviews, and provide feedback.
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment and manage conflict reasonably, cooperatively, and without confrontation.
Act honestly and with integrity when handling customer and business information; follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
