About The Position

The Floor Technician performs tasks to provide a clean environment for patients at Gordon Health & Rehab. The role includes maintaining floors, cleaning and storing equipment, reporting needed repairs, carrying out waste disposal procedures, and assisting with the proper care and use of housekeeping equipment. The technician also supports the System’s image and reputation through servant leadership and direct, open communication, contributes to committees and other collaborative efforts, and performs other duties as needed. The position is full-time, with a starting pay of $15.29 per hour and weekly pay.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate well and maintain a warm, friendly, and approachable demeanor.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers or associates.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to written, oral, or diagrammed instructions and address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Dust, sweep, mop, buff, strip, and wax floors according to the supervisor’s schedule.
• Clean and store equipment at the end of each shift.
• Report needed repairs.
• Perform waste disposal procedures as directed by the supervisor.
• Assist with the proper care and use of housekeeping equipment.
• Promote the System’s image and reputation through servant leadership and direct, open communication.
• Contribute to committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts.
• Perform other duties as necessary to support the success of the System.
• Communicate warmly and professionally with associates, patients, family members, and visitors; respond helpfully to expressed concerns and answer questions when appropriate.
