Floor Technician - FT - Day

About The Position

The Floor Technician performs tasks to provide a clean environment for patients at Dawson Manor Health & Rehab, a non-profit, mission-driven organization. This is a full-time day position. Starting pay is $15.29 per hour, with weekly pay. The role maintains floors and housekeeping equipment, reports needed repairs, and carries out waste disposal procedures as directed. The technician is also expected to communicate warmly and professionally with associates, patients, family members, and visitors, and to contribute to collaborative efforts that support the organization.

Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers or associates.
Ability to perform arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense to written, oral, or diagram-based instructions and address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.

Responsibilities

Dust, sweep, mop, buff, strip, and wax floors according to the supervisor’s schedule.
Clean and store equipment at the end of each shift.
Report needed repairs.
Perform waste disposal procedures as required by the supervisor.
Assist with the proper care and use of housekeeping equipment.
Promote the System’s image and reputation through servant leadership and direct, open communication.
Contribute to committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts.
Perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System.
Communicate with associates, patients, family members, and visitors in a warm, friendly, helpful, and professional manner; respond to concerns and answer questions when appropriate.
