About The Position

The Floor Technician performs tasks to provide a clean environment for patients. The role includes maintaining floors and housekeeping equipment, carrying out waste-disposal procedures, and reporting needed repairs. The associate also supports the organization’s image and reputation through servant leadership, open communication, and participation in collaborative efforts. This is a full-time day position at Dawson Manor Health & Rehab, with a starting pay of $15.29 per hour and weekly pay.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to written, oral, or diagrammed instructions and address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
• Ability to meet the stated physical demands, with reasonable accommodations where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Dust, sweep, mop, buff, strip, and wax floors as scheduled by the supervisor.
• Clean and store equipment at the end of each shift.
• Report needed repairs.
• Perform waste-disposal procedures as required by the supervisor.
• Assist in the proper care and use of housekeeping equipment.
• Promote the System’s image and reputation through servant leadership and direct, open communication.
• Contribute to committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts of the System.
• Perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System.
• Communicate with associates, patients, family members, and visitors in a warm, friendly, and approachable manner.
• Respond to expressed concerns with a helpful, caring demeanor and answer questions professionally when appropriate.
