About The Position

Galaxy Theatres is seeking energetic, people-oriented Floor Staff Team Members to provide an exceptional guest service experience and support the smooth operation of the theatre. Duties include assisting guests, maintaining clean and organized facilities, handling cash and ticketing, following safety procedures, and supporting other tasks that contribute to a positive movie-going experience. The position involves working throughout the theatre, including guest areas, concessions, auditoriums, storage spaces, and other building areas. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with qualifying disabilities to perform essential functions. Duties may vary by theatre and may evolve with business needs.

Requirements

Ability to work Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays; flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Ability to interact with diverse guests while maintaining a positive, friendly attitude.
Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
Comfort handling money and processing transactions accurately; basic math skills.
Attention to detail in maintaining theatre cleanliness and order.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Ability to address guest issues and solve problems in a timely manner.
Ability to stand and/or walk for a minimum of 4–5 hours and perform duties during long, physically active shifts.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical activities described for the role.
Previous guest service or retail experience is not required.

Responsibilities

Arrive on time in the correct uniform and accurately log work time and breaks.
Greet and assist guests, answer phone calls, provide information about schedules, prices, promotions, content, and services, and promptly resolve complaints or issues.
Sell tickets; operate cash registers; process payments; issue tickets or receipts; and ensure tickets are distributed for the correct shows.
Serve guests at concessions, including preparing and handling food, snacks, and beverages; handle cash and transactions accurately; and assist guests with self-service kiosks.
Keep the lobby, halls, restrooms, concession areas, and other theatre spaces clean, organized, and safe; perform inspections and cleaning between showtimes, including vacuuming, mopping, and trash removal.
Stock and organize inventory and workstation supplies.
Direct guests and help them reach their destinations; monitor compliance with safety protocols, watch for disruptive behavior, and manage crowds during busy periods or special events.
Follow theatre policies and safety guidelines, including fire evacuation procedures and emergency exits; monitor for unsafe conditions and report incidents to management; help enforce policies regarding outside food, drinks, and prohibited items.
Collaborate with team members and communicate with management to support efficient operations and guest satisfaction.
Assist with basic theatre equipment operations, help ensure films start on time, troubleshoot minor issues, and coordinate with projectionists or technical staff when needed.
Participate in an interactive process with management to identify effective and feasible accommodations for limitations or disabilities.
Assist with opening and closing procedures and prepare the theatre for movie showings.
Participate in training sessions and support membership programs, special events, and movie-related merchandise sales.
Maintain regular attendance, including availability to work Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
Perform physical duties including standing or walking for at least 4–5 hours, moving throughout the building, preparing and transporting food, bending and stooping, lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds, using hands for transactions and cleaning, and climbing ladders or using elevated platforms for light maintenance when required.
