About The Position

The Glazier and Flat Glass Trainee role offers an entry point into a career in the trades, with training and opportunities to develop skills and grow within Glass Doctor. The trainee helps residential and business customers with flat glass installation and repair, providing customer service and helping ensure homes and businesses are safe and look good. Glass Doctor provides training, tools, and processes to support success in the role. Pay is based on the trainee’s level of experience.

Requirements

At least one year of glass installation experience; glass cutting experience is preferred.
Knowledge and understanding of basic tools of the trade.
Must be insurable and have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record to drive a company vehicle.
Ability to lift 50 pounds independently.
Comfortable working at heights and using ladders and lifts.
Comfortable using mobile technology and digital software.
Prior job experience is subject to verification through reference checks.
Strong attention to detail and ability to take measurements accurately to a fraction of an inch.
Ability to provide exceptional customer service and make recommendations for customers’ current and future needs.
Dependability and ability to arrive as scheduled, including Monday mornings.

Responsibilities

Install flat glass products for doors, storefronts, windows, showers, mirrors, tabletops, and other glass-related items.
Perform repairs as necessary.
Cut glass to size for custom projects.
Take precise measurements to ensure materials meet specified dimensions.
Evaluate the customer’s home or business to identify additional needs.
Explain recommended services to customers and help put them at ease.
Collect payment from customers for work performed.
Complete scheduled jobs on time and provide high-quality customer service.
