About The Position

This Fiscal Technician role with Wayne County Area Agency on Aging, Human Services Fiscal Department, involves performing advanced clerical-accounting work. The position applies bookkeeping principles and practices to support programs that serve the needs of Wayne County residents, promote independence, and contribute to the quality of life in the community. The role emphasizes collaboration with fiscal and program staff to ensure maximum support and compliance. Requirements

  • One year as a Fiscal Assistant; or Three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.
  • Pass a background investigation.
  • Pass a drug screening (conditional offer of employment).
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports including PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance (conditional offer of employment, due to Child Protective Services Law provisions).
  • Provide complete and accurate information on the application and in response to supplemental questions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret accounting records and methods for input into the accounting system.
  • Participate in the coding and processing of revenue, expenses, payroll, allocations, and reconciliations.
  • Develop and analyze program invoices.
  • Generate and analyze reports.
  • Maintain departmental budget to expense spreadsheets and workbooks for financial tracking.
  • Collaborate with individuals from both fiscal and program teams.
  • Assist with preparation for agency audits.
