Fine Jewelry Commission Sales Associate - Fashion Valley Mall
About The Position
The Fine Jewelry Commission Sales Associate serves as the store’s subject-matter expert on fine jewelry, using detailed product knowledge to educate customers and help them find products that meet their needs. The role focuses on friendly, informed customer service, achieving sales goals, and supporting the Fine Jewelry business, including the company’s Instant Credit Application Process (iCAP). The associate also supports general store operations, including inventory activities, merchandise transfers and returns, and sales-floor recovery. They are expected to support shrink and safety initiatives and meet performance standards related to sales, customer service, profit, productivity, and attendance. The position offers a wage of $17.75 per hour, plus 1% commission on sales of qualified merchandise and 10% commission on Service and Care plans. Eligible associates may receive benefits including medical, dental and vision coverage, term life insurance, paid vacation and holidays, and a 401(k) with company match. Associates are eligible for a JCPenney merchandise discount. Eligible associates scheduled to work on designated holidays receive additional compensation.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of retail experience.
- Demonstrated ability to provide customer service and contribute to sales goals.
- Accountability and a results-oriented approach.
- Ability to build positive relationships, communicate effectively with a wide audience, and show respect for different styles.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations with energy and a positive attitude.
- Confidence in taking on challenging assignments and addressing conflict promptly and constructively.
Responsibilities
- Approach customers in a friendly manner, determine their needs, and help them make product or service decisions.
- Explain key product attributes to generate customer interest and build clientele.
- Meet or exceed sales goals by applying fine jewelry knowledge and providing customer service.
- Engage customers in support of the company’s Instant Credit Application Process (iCAP).
- Participate in inventory processes, including annual inventory, cycle counts, system uploads, stock ledger activities, and Radio Frequency Identification scans.
- Participate in Merchandise Transfer Out, Return to Vendor, Return to Warehouse, and Defective Merchandise Transfer Out activities.
- Maintain sales-floor recovery to keep the store clean and organized.
- Support company shrink and safety initiatives.
- Meet established performance standards for iCAP, product and service sales, customer service, profit, productivity, and attendance.
