About The Position

The Fine Jewelry Commission Sales Associate serves as the store’s knowledgeable resource for Fine Jewelry, understanding the products and educating customers about how they can meet their needs. The role provides customer service, supports sales goals and the Instant Credit Application Process (iCAP), and helps maintain store operations and performance standards.

The position pays $17.00 per hour and offers 1% commission on sales of qualified merchandise and 10% commission on Service and Care plans. Eligible associates may receive medical, dental and vision coverage, term life insurance, paid vacation and holidays, and a 401(k) with company match. All associates are eligible for a JCPenney merchandise discount. Eligible store hourly associates scheduled to work on a designated holiday receive additional compensation.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of retail experience.
• Fine Jewelry product knowledge and the ability to educate customers about merchandise.
• Ability to provide effective customer service and contribute to sales goals.

Responsibilities

• Approach customers in a friendly manner, identify their needs, and help them choose products or services.
• Explain key product attributes to generate customer interest and build clientele.
• Meet or exceed sales goals by applying Fine Jewelry product knowledge and customer service skills.
• Actively engage customers in support of the Instant Credit Application Process (iCAP).
• Participate in inventory processes, including annual inventory, cycle counts, system uploads, stock ledger activities, and Radio Frequency Identification scans.
• Participate in Merchandise Transfer Out, Return to Vendor, Return to Warehouse, and Defective Merchandise Transfer Out activities.
• Maintain sales floor recovery processes and a clean, organized store environment.
• Support company shrink and safety initiatives.
• Meet established performance standards for iCAP, product and service sales, customer service, profit, productivity, and attendance.
