Fine Jewelry Commission Sales Associate - Valley Fair Mall
About The Position
The Fine Jewelry Commission Sales Associate serves as the store’s knowledgeable resource for Fine Jewelry, helping customers understand the products and how they may meet their needs. The role combines customer engagement and sales with inventory, merchandise handling, sales-floor recovery, and support for company safety and shrink initiatives. The position offers a wage of $12.00 per hour, plus a 1% commission on sales of qualified merchandise and a 10% commission on Service and Care plans. Eligible associates may receive medical, dental, and vision coverage, term life insurance, paid vacation and holidays, and a 401(k) with company match. Associates are eligible for a discount on JCPenney merchandise. Store hourly associates scheduled to work on a designated holiday receive additional compensation; paid-holiday eligibility is tied to eligibility for paid vacation.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of retail experience.

Responsibilities
- Approach customers in a friendly manner, determine their needs, and help them make decisions about products or services.
- Explain key product attributes to generate interest and build customer relationships.
- Contribute Fine Jewelry product knowledge and customer service toward meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Enthusiastically engage customers in support of the Instant Credit Application Process (iCAP).
- Participate in inventory activities, including annual inventory, cycle counts, system uploads, stock ledger work, and Radio Frequency Identification scans.
- Participate in Merchandise Transfer Out, Return to Vendor, Return to Warehouse, and Defective Merchandise Transfer Out activities.
- Maintain sales-floor recovery processes and a clean, organized store environment.
- Support company shrink and safety initiatives.
- Meet established performance standards, including standards for iCAP, product and service sales, customer service, profit, productivity, and attendance.
