The Financial Solutions Advisor Stage I (FSA I) begins by obtaining securities industry licenses through dedicated classes for the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 66 exams. After licensing, the advisor learns foundational skills for acquiring, building, and managing client relationships; understanding clients’ complex financial situations; and providing advice and solutions to support their financial goals. After reaching key milestones, the advisor works in a financial center to deliver core banking, investment solutions, and client care. Successful Stage I advisors typically progress to Financial Solutions Advisor Stage II and may later advance to other roles at Bank of America and Merrill. The Academy provides programs, tools, and resources throughout this development journey. The role is subject to SAFE Act registration requirements. Employees engaged in residential mortgage loan originations must register with the federal registry system, complete the required background check and registration process, and remain in good standing. Failure to obtain or maintain registration may result in immediate termination. The position includes world-class training and onboarding, one-on-one coaching from Academy managers, and a defined consultative approach to identifying client needs and appropriate solutions. Advisors build a network among banking customers, small business owners, and higher-net-worth clients; deliver comprehensive advice and client reviews or presentations; recommend strategies aligned with clients’ financial goals and priorities; and collaborate with banking and investment partners to connect clients with Bank of America and Merrill solutions. The position is open across the market, with the financial center location determined by business needs. Training takes place at one financial center; work may initially be phone-based until another financial center within a reasonable commuting distance is determined, as permitted by applicable law. Schedule is Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays, first shift, 40 hours per week. Bank of America describes an in-office culture with expectations and role-specific flexibility based on responsibilities and business needs.
