At Bank of America, the Financial Solutions Advisor Stage I (FSA I) begins by obtaining securities industry licenses through dedicated classes for the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 66 exams. After licensing, the advisor learns foundational skills for acquiring, building, and managing client relationships; considering clients’ financial circumstances; and providing advice and solutions. The role then moves into work at a financial center, delivering core banking and investment solutions and client care. The Academy provides development programs, tools, and resources, with coaching and training throughout the career journey. Successful Stage I advisors typically progress to Financial Solutions Advisor Stage II, with opportunities to advance into other roles at Bank of America and Merrill. The role uses a defined consultative approach to identify client needs and appropriate solutions. Advisors build a business network by interacting with banking customers, small business owners, and higher-net-worth clients; provide comprehensive advice and client reviews or presentations; recommend strategies aligned with clients’ financial goals and priorities; and collaborate with banking and investment partners to connect clients with Bank of America and Merrill solutions. This position is subject to SAFE Act registration requirements. The employee must register with the federal registry system, complete the required background check and registration process, and remain in good standing. Failure to obtain or maintain registration may result in immediate termination. The SIE must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and the Series 7 and Series 66 within 120 days; Series 63 and 65 are accepted in lieu of Series 66. The position is open across the market, and the specific financial center location will be based on business needs. An offered candidate will train at one financial center and may initially work in a phone-based capacity until another financial center within a reasonable commuting distance is determined, to the extent permitted by law. The schedule is Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays, on first shift, for 40 hours per week. Bank of America describes an in-office culture with role-specific flexibility based on responsibilities and business needs.
