Rückbauanlage Gundremmingen•San Diego, CA

About The Position

The OT Field Services Tech II is an experienced, field-based technical professional who independently troubleshoots, repairs, tests, and maintains Operational Technology (OT) systems supporting RWE’s power-generation assets. Working within approved procedures, the role resolves moderately complex issues involving field devices, communication links, basic network-connected equipment, and power supplies. The technician interprets OT diagrams, network drawings, wiring schematics, equipment manuals, and device parameters to diagnose faults and implement practical solutions. The role coordinates field activities with Operations, OT support, Engineering, project teams, and vendors, including access arrangements, outage windows, planned maintenance, and small equipment modifications. It supports commissioning and operational handover by verifying installation, connectivity, configuration, and functional performance. The technician maintains accurate work and asset documentation, provides feedback on recurring issues and improvement opportunities, and offers informal guidance to junior technicians on safe work, troubleshooting, and documentation. The position supports wind, solar, battery energy storage, thermal, hydro, and other generation facilities, including substations, control houses, communications shelters, equipment rooms, outdoor electrical areas, and remote or unmanned locations. Approximately 50% regional and national travel is required, potentially including overnight, multi-day, and short-notice assignments. Work may involve extreme weather, energized electrical equipment, industrial machinery, restricted-access areas, ladders, confined or physically restrictive spaces, and extended travel. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is unavailable.
