About The Position
LayerZero Power Systems, Inc. is seeking a skilled, safety-focused Field Service Technician to support its power distribution equipment. The role combines on-site and remote service to ensure the reliability and performance of the company’s systems. The technician will travel to customer sites throughout the United States and Canada; initial training is conducted at LayerZero headquarters in Aurora, Ohio. Weekend or holiday work may be required. LayerZero serves critical industries, with a primary focus on data centers, as well as financial, computer service provision, and semiconductor manufacturing sectors. The company describes itself as a growing provider of power distribution solutions for mission-critical environments.
Requirements
- Service experience with electric power systems.
- Electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read diagrams and schematics.
- Familiarity with programming printed circuit boards using PC-based programs.
- Safety awareness and knowledge of electrical personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Clean driving record.
Nice To Haves
- Electronics or electrical training from military service.
- Associate degree in an electrical field.
Responsibilities
- Perform startup, commissioning, service, and preventive maintenance on static transfer switches, power distribution equipment, and remote power panels.
- Provide customer support on site, by email, and by phone.
- Maintain timely and detailed service records in the LayerZero system.
- Provide emergency response for critical incidents.
- Cover regularly scheduled time slots for LayerZero’s 24/7 incident response line.
