Full Time Field Service Technician Floater - Columbus, OH
About The Position
The Hillman Group’s Robotics & Digital Solutions (RDS) team is seeking a Field Service Technician Floater to maintain and service self-service kiosks, including Minute Key®, Quick Tag®, EcoATM®, and Pokémon® machines. The role supports retail partners across a service territory and combines technical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, inventory management, and customer relationship building to keep kiosks operational and profitable. This is a field-based role with daily travel between customer locations and up to 80% travel by plane or car. The technician is responsible for a territory of 70+ kiosks throughout the Boulder area. The position offers an independent, full-time schedule averaging 40 hours per week.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record.
- Reliable transportation with active automobile insurance.
- Comfort using hand tools and troubleshooting mechanical equipment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a service territory.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Nice To Haves
- 1–3 years of field service, maintenance, merchandising, or related experience.
- Electromechanical repair and maintenance experience.
- Retail field operations experience.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving mechanical or technical issues.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and restocking of kiosk machines.
- Troubleshoot and repair kiosks to maximize uptime and customer satisfaction.
- Respond to service calls and perform on-site repairs.
- Install new kiosks and replace or upgrade existing equipment.
- Monitor kiosk performance and proactively resolve connectivity or power-related issues.
- Manage inventory and replacement parts within the assigned territory.
- Partner with store personnel to maintain strong business relationships.
- Identify opportunities to improve revenue through better machine placement, optimization, and service execution.
