Field Service Technician - Level 1
About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose equipment issues, and make advanced repairs at customer locations to minimize downtime safely and effectively. The role may involve working on a variety of equipment makes and models in remote locations. Fleets vary by location and may include aerial work platforms, general construction tools and equipment, large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas-related equipment. The position offers on-the-job training and career development opportunities in service or operations management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- The physical ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50 pounds or more, and work indoors or outdoors as required.
- A driver's license age requirement of 21 years and a CDL may apply in some locations.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training.
- One to two years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty-line equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment.
- Mechanic’s tools of the trade may be needed.
- Bilingual ability in Spanish or another language may be required based on location needs.
