Field Service Technician - Level 1
About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose equipment issues, and make advanced repairs at customer locations. The work is intended to keep equipment operating safely and effectively while avoiding downtime. Depending on the location, equipment may include aerial work platforms, general construction tools and equipment, large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas-related equipment. The role offers work on a variety of equipment in remote locations, opportunities to develop service or operations management skills, and a safety-focused team environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50 pounds or more, and work indoors or outdoors when required.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training.
- One to two years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty-lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment.
- Mechanic's tools of the trade may be needed.
- A CDL may be required in some locations.
- Bilingual ability in Spanish or another language may be required based on location needs.
