About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose equipment issues, and make advanced repairs at customer locations. The work is performed as safely and effectively as possible to avoid equipment downtime. Fleet types vary by location and primarily include aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty locations may also have large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas-related equipment. The role offers work on a variety of equipment in remote locations, opportunities to develop service or operations management skills, on-the-job training, and work with a safety-focused team.

The position may require the employee to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade. Physical demands include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required. Duties may also include other incidental tasks as needed. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50 pounds or more, and work indoors or outdoors as required.

Nice To Haves

• Some trade school or equivalent training.
• One to two years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty-lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment.
• A CDL may be required in some locations.
• Bilingual ability in Spanish or another language may be required based on location needs.
