Field Service Technician - Level 1
About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose equipment issues, and make advanced repairs at customer locations to minimize downtime safely and effectively. The fleet varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty locations may also have large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas-related equipment. The role offers work on varied equipment in remote locations, opportunities to develop skills for a service or operations management career track, and a safety-focused team environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- May need to provide mechanic’s tools of trade.
- Bilingual Spanish or another language may be required depending on location.
- Ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50 pounds or more, and work indoors or outdoors as required.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training is desired.
- One to two years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty-lines equipment is strongly preferred.
- A CDL license may be required in some locations.
