Field Service Technician - Level 1
About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic/technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose equipment issues, and make advanced repairs at customer locations in a safe and effective manner to minimize downtime. The fleet varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty locations may also have large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas-related equipment. The role offers work on a variety of equipment and makes in remote locations, opportunities to develop skills for a career in service or operations management, and work with a safety-focused team. The physical demands include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required. The description notes that other miscellaneous or incidental duties may be required and that reasonable accommodations may be made in accordance with applicable laws.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50 pounds or more, and work indoors or outdoors as required.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training.
- One to two years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty-lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment.
- Mechanic's tools of the trade may be needed.
- Bilingual ability in Spanish or another language may be required depending on location.
- A CDL may be required in some locations; applicants must be at least 21 years old where this applies.
