About The Position

The Hillman Group’s Robotics and Digital Solutions (RDS) Division is hiring a full-time Field Service Technician in the Richmond, Virginia area. The technician begins as a Kiosk Technician, training to service key-duplicating (Minute Key) and tag-engraving (Quick Tag) kiosks, as well as third-party equipment such as Eco-ATM and Pokémon kiosks. The territory includes more than 70 kiosks, and the role involves approximately 40 hours per week. Compensation is hourly, based on experience, at $24–$25 per hour. A company car, cell-phone reimbursement, and a corporate gas card for business miles are provided. The position services and maintains kiosks throughout the territory, monitors their condition and connectivity, manages inventory, and works with stores to resolve issues. It also supports installations and kiosk replacements and seeks to grow territory revenue through effective machine placement, uptime, product mix, and store relationships. Travel is required daily and may involve driving up to 200 miles per day. The work environment varies by store and may include cramped spaces, dust, fumes, or odors.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Experience using tools and troubleshooting mechanical problems.
Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English, including technical terminology.
Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to represent Hillman professionally.
Ability to work weekends when required.
Valid driver’s license and excellent, clean driving record; major driving violations disqualify candidates.
Reliable transportation with automobile insurance.
Reliable cell phone.
Ability to meet the physical demands of lifting up to 30 pounds and occasionally pushing or pulling up to 100 pounds.
Functional vision and hearing, and hand-eye coordination.

Nice To Haves

Background in electromechanical repair and maintenance.
Prior experience in retail merchandising, field operations, and customer service.
One to three years of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

Restock kiosks and perform routine service according to machine demand or schedule.
Perform on-call repairs or adjustments when a machine is out of order.
Install new kiosks or replace existing machines with newer kiosks in the local area.
Monitor territory machines daily for issues and contact stores to resolve connectivity or power problems.
Track inventory used to restock machines in the technician’s possession.
Grow territory revenue by optimizing machine locations, uptime, product mix, and store relationships.
Participate in safety and health program activities, report hazards and unsafe practices or incidents promptly, wear required personal protective equipment, and support safety committee activities.
