About The Position

Airgas is seeking a safety-minded Field Service Technician near Portsmouth, Virginia, to install, maintain, repair, and remove bulk storage tanks and beverage carbonation systems at customer sites. The role supports reliable beverage and gas systems at commercial locations such as restaurants, bars, and stadiums. This is not a delivery-route driving position; technicians drive commercial service vehicles, such as F-550s or box trucks, primarily to travel between customer jobs within a 150-mile radius of Portsmouth. The work includes installing centralized Microbulk cryogenic tanks, running lines, setting up gas monitors and mounting control boxes. Technicians respond to service calls, troubleshoot gas-line or tank problems, inspect systems, and replace faulty equipment. The job requires hands-on mechanical work and physical maneuvering, including working on ladders, routing tubing through ceiling tiles, drilling into structures, and moving large stainless-steel tanks with specialized hand trucks. The company provides the necessary tools, drills, and lines. Technicians work independently and must be self-motivated, trainable, and adaptable to changing daily schedules. Travel may include occasional overnight stays depending on territory needs. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a 7:00 a.m. start; overtime is available. Compensation is $28.00 per hour.

  • Be able to work in a drug-free environment.
