Field Service Engineer - Jacksonville, FL Territory
About The Position
The Field Service Engineer is part of Beckman Coulter Diagnostics’ Service Organization, based in the Jacksonville, Florida territory, and works remotely from home. Reporting to the Territory Manager, this role ensures optimal performance of Beckman Coulter equipment by providing troubleshooting, installation, preventive maintenance, and repair services. The engineer also provides technical training, maintains service records, orders repair parts, and uses business systems to plan service calls and support team goals. The role involves working autonomously, serving customers across an assigned geography, engaging with stakeholders, and helping train newer Field Service Engineers. Candidates must reside within 60 minutes of Jacksonville.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree, military experience, or equivalent experience; applicable military experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- At least 1 year of experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, robotics, electronic equipment, and/or instrumentation.
- Current valid driver’s license and a good driving record over the last three years.
- Ability to travel within an assigned geography and periodically to other areas, including overnight travel.
- Ability to lift, lower, and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, turn, crouch or crawl, push or pull, and sit or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level; flex and extend the neck; and perform tasks requiring good hand and finger dexterity.
- Must reside within 60 minutes of Jacksonville.
Nice To Haves
- 2+ years of experience in advanced troubleshooting, installation, validation, preventive maintenance, modifications, and/or service repair.
- Experience developing positive business relationships with internal and external stakeholders to increase customer satisfaction and support long-term retention.
- A technical college major such as biomedical technology, engineering, or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, install, perform preventive maintenance on, and repair Beckman Coulter equipment.
- Provide customers with excellent and efficient service and technical training on products.
- Maintain accurate customer service logs and internal service records.
- Order repair parts and adhere to cycle times.
- Use OBI, Salesforce, and SharePoint for service call planning and to advance team goals.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders and understand and meet their requirements.
- Help train newer Field Service Engineers.
