About The Position

As a Field Sales Account Executive, you will own a defined territory covering the San Fernando Valley and Simi Valley, managing and growing a portfolio of metalworking and industrial accounts. You will hunt for new business, deepen relationships within existing accounts, and serve as the primary point of contact between your customers and Travers’s full product and service offering. This is an outside sales role with daily customer-facing activity.

Requirements

• 2+ years of outside sales experience in industrial, manufacturing, or distribution environments.
• Knowledge/experience in cutting tools and indexable tooling
• Proven track record of achieving or exceeding assigned sales goals.
• Hunter mentality with strategic thinking—able to prospect aggressively while managing a long-term account plan.
• Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with the San Fernando Valley / Simi Valley industrial market.
• Collaborative, self-motivated, and accountable—this role works closely with marketing, inside sales, and operations.
• Well-organized with strong attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle with insurance coverage as required by the company.

Nice To Haves

• Background in the metalworking trade—whether in sales, technical support, or on the manufacturing floor.
• Bilingual English/Spanish—a strong plus given the LA market.
• Experience with CRM platforms (HubSpot preferred) and BI/analytics tools.
• Existing relationships in the Southern California manufacturing or machine shop community.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned territory and develop multi-level relationships within target accounts to drive retention and share-of-wallet growth.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities—from lead generation through close—expanding the scope of Travers products and services within your accounts.
• Act as the liaison between customers and internal teams (sales support, vendors, technical, accounting) to resolve inquiries and issues quickly.
• Present tailored solutions that highlight how Travers products solve specific customer problems across our full catalog.
• Leverage sales analytics and CRM tools (Phocas, HubSpot, CAP) to identify product opportunities with existing and prospective customers.
• Monitor competitor products, pricing, and market activity; relay insights on trends, new developments, and customer needs.
• Develop and present a semi-annual business plan for your assigned accounts.
• Log all customer visits, emails, and opportunities in the CRM with consistent detail.
• Use BI and CRM data to establish a clear purpose for every customer call.
• Maintain accurate customer pricing agreements in the ERP system; enter quotes and orders as needed.
• Complete special projects as assigned by your manager.
• Achieve or exceed assigned sales forecast at all intervals (daily, monthly, quarterly, annual).
• Maintain a documented CRM opportunity pipeline valued at 2× your annual forecast.
• Build and maintain a Target Account Deck of 50 qualified accounts within your territory.
• Develop a 12-month sales strategy within your first 120 days.
• Use the CRM daily for call activity logging and pipeline management.
