Field Relief Manager
About The Position
The Field Relief Manager fills in for vacationing General Managers at U-Haul centers in the area, providing coverage as needed to deliver exemplary customer service. The position enforces policies and inventory practices, reviews program implementation, assists at centers, participates in ongoing U-Haul education, and hires and educates new team members. The role is based at 336 E Baseline Rd Ste 100, Phoenix, Arizona 85042. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. U-Haul offers paid hands-on working interviews, a hiring bonus, and a cash bonus upon completing U-Haul Equipment Inspection and Verification through its 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program at retail stores. The job involves moderate workplace risks and physical activity, including periods indoors and outdoors and moving at least 50 pounds, assisted or unassisted. U-Haul states that it will not hire or re-hire nicotine product users in Arizona and certain other states.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of management experience in retail or another service industry, with responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction.
- Previous management proficiency in high-volume retail with profit and loss (P&L) accountability.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record.
- Able to work weekends and holidays.
- Computer expertise.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require employer sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Provide coverage for General Managers on leave by enforcing policies and inventory practices.
- Review implementation and assist at centers to stay apprised of all programs.
- Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
- Hire and educate new team members.
