About The Position

Ledcor Technical Services designs, builds, and maintains wireline and wireless communication networks across North America and beyond. The Field Operations Technician works on restoration activities, preventative maintenance, and installations while delivering reliable, safe, and customer-focused service. The role involves installing, repairing, configuring, and testing moves, additions, changes, and disconnects (MACD) on Nokia, Infinera, and Ciena equipment, as well as supporting customer optical, electrical, voice, and data services. The technician also tests circuits using optical time domain reflectometers (OTDR).

This position performs on-site installation and repair of internet services, copper and fiber cabling, demarc extensions, and rack-mounted networking equipment. Technicians diagnose and resolve technical problems, including running new cable, replacing hardware components, and installing data circuits. The role requires travel in a company-provided vehicle and work in varied weather and physical conditions, including heights and confined spaces.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in telecommunications, business installation and service for electronics, appliances, security, and/or cabling.
• A positive, can-do attitude and customer-focused approach to handling challenging situations with integrity, empathy, and sincerity.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience working independently in the field and thriving in a dynamic environment.
• Clear and efficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Ability to travel with a company-provided vehicle.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose technical problems and implement solutions, including running new cable, replacing hardware components, and installing data circuits for internet connectivity.
• Install, repair, configure, and test MACD work on Nokia, Infinera, and Ciena equipment.
• Support customer optical, electrical, voice, and data services, and test circuits using OTDRs.
• Follow Ledcor’s safety standards and ensure proper use of vehicles, tools, and equipment.
