About The Position

The Field Operations Engineer ensures the smooth operation and maintenance of complex technical systems and equipment deployed at customer sites. The role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and promptly resolving technical issues while providing customer-focused support. The position is fully remote and may require up to 80% travel. It is based out of Seegrid’s headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and requires extensive domestic and international travel, potentially on short notice.

Requirements

• Associate degree in electrical or mechanical technology, or at least 3 years of experience with complex machinery or industrial equipment.
• Advanced understanding of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Ability to work long hours in noisy and busy environments.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Strong customer-facing skills and commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use software to diagnose issues.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Ability to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally, and maintain a clean driving record; passport required.
• Highly responsible, able to work independently and manage priorities.
• Experience using Linux.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and maintenance services, diagnose issues, and promptly implement corrective actions.
• Partner with Seegrid Support, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to resolve customer concerns.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to provide feedback on performance and reliability.
• Coach customer staff on safety, operation, and maintenance best practices.
• Maintain detailed daily records and reports, including implemented resolutions and records of time, expenses, and materials.
• Remain prepared for customer service calls that may require travel on short notice.
• Engage in regular product and software training to develop skills.
• Adhere to safety standards to maintain a safe work environment.
