About The Position
TekWissen is a global workforce management provider headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan, offering strategic talent solutions worldwide. This temporary assignment is with a client described as a global information technology company providing high-performance, industry-focused solutions with leading-edge security to government, financial services, and commercial clients. The client’s offerings include security software and services, digital transformation and workplace services, industry applications and services, and software operating environments for high-intensity enterprise computing. The Field Engineer will provide laptop and desktop repair services in the Lansing, Michigan metro area and surrounding locations. The role is onsite and lasts 14 months. The engineer will receive service requests, perform hardware repairs or unit swaps, and close service tickets in real time through the client’s Call Management system using a company-provided phone.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience with laptop and desktop break-fix.
- General knowledge of laptop and desktop hardware and software, including basic knowledge of Microsoft applications.
- Ability to resolve basic or non-complex problems as directed.
- Reliable transportation to service the metro area and surrounding areas.

- Computer-building background experience.
Responsibilities
- Respond to assigned service requests to repair laptops and desktop computers in the metro area and surrounding locations.
- Perform hardware repairs, including replacing hard drives, motherboards, and keyboards.
- Perform whole-unit swaps and repair or replace PC peripherals.
- Close service tickets in real time in the client Call Management system using a company-provided phone.
