About The Position

TekWissen is recruiting for a client, a global information technology company offering security software and services, digital transformation and workplace services, industry applications and services, and software operating environments for high-intensity enterprise computing. The Field/Computer Technician will service laptops and desktops in the Minneapolis and Roseville, Minnesota metro area and surrounding locations. This is a five-month temporary assignment and a driving role. The technician will use a company-provided phone and the client’s call management system to close service tickets in real time. Reliable transportation is required. Client and/or governmental clearance may be required.

Requirements

• At least one year of hands-on experience with laptop and desktop break-fix.
• General knowledge of laptop and desktop hardware and software, including basic knowledge of Microsoft applications.
• Ability to resolve basic or non-complex problems as directed.
• Reliable transportation for travel throughout the metro and surrounding areas.
• Client and/or governmental clearance may be required.

Nice To Haves

• Computer-building background experience.
• Experience repairing and replacing laptop and desktop hardware components.
• Familiarity with service ticket management systems.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a field service environment.
• Experience supporting hardware refresh, deployment, or desktop migration projects.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for Windows operating systems and common peripherals.

Responsibilities

• Repair laptops and desktops in the metro area, including replacing hard drives, motherboards, and keyboards.
• Perform whole-unit swaps and repair or replace PC peripherals.
• Travel to service locations in the metro and surrounding areas.
• Close service tickets in real time in the client call management system using a company-provided phone.
