About The Position

National General, part of The Allstate Corporation, provides home, auto, accident and health insurance, and specialty insurance products through independent agents and directly to consumers. The Field Auto Adjuster creates or audits comprehensive damage estimates for first- and third-party material damage claims in auto or specialty lines and helps determine the appropriate claim disposition. The role also provides training, mentoring, quality control, and technical assistance on material damage claims. This is a field position in the Atlanta, Georgia area; candidates should be local and able to travel within downtown Atlanta inside the I-285 perimeter. The job has no supervisory duties. Compensation is $28.03–$42.99 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

• Be local to the Atlanta, Georgia area and able to travel within downtown Atlanta inside the I-285 perimeter.
• Possess strong estimating fundamentals for creating or auditing material damage estimates.
• Have a deep understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company.
• Possess business acumen, business management, critical thinking, financial analysis, and quality management skills.
• Be authorized to work in the United States; the company does not sponsor work visas.

Responsibilities

• Create or audit damage estimates for first- and third-party material damage losses of all severities.
• Apply a deep understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company.
• Negotiate settlements, make settlement payments, and document activities in the most complex files across multiple lines.
• Evaluate settlement alternatives for regulatory compliance and fair claims practices, and decide on the best option.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external customers across multiple lines.
• Train and mentor others, control quality, and provide technical assistance on material damage claims.
