About The Position

Responsible for creating or auditing comprehensive estimates of damages for first- and third-party material damage claims in auto or specialty lines, leading to the proper disposition. The role also involves training, mentoring, controlling quality, and providing technical assistance on material damage claims. This is a field adjuster position in Wayne County, Michigan. Candidates should be local and able to travel within the Detroit, Michigan area.

The position has no supervisory duties. Compensation is $28.03–$42.99 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

• Be local to Wayne County, Michigan, and able to travel within the Detroit, Michigan area.

Responsibilities

• Create or audit estimates of damages for first- and third-party material damage losses of all severities.
• Apply a deep understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company.
• Negotiate settlements, make settlement payments, and document activities in the most complex files across multiple lines.
• Evaluate settlement alternatives for regulatory compliance and fair claims practices, and decide on the best option.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external customers across multiple lines.
• Train and mentor others, control quality, and provide technical assistance on material damage claims.
