About The Position

The Field Access Specialist (FAS) supports timely and successful patient access to prescribed UCB medications by educating healthcare providers on navigating payer barriers. This non-promotional role is part of UCB’s Market Access, Access and Reimbursement Department and focuses on bridging prescribers’ clinical decisions with patients’ treatment initiation. The specialist supports sites of care with local, regional, and national payer coverage, pharmacy benefits, and payer policies for UCB Immunology medicines across an assigned territory. The role is based in the Columbus, Ohio territory and requires residence within that territory. The FAS supports Dermatology accounts that prescribe UCB medicines, with an emphasis on new-account experiences and positive outcomes for accounts and patients. The specialist partners with office staff to establish effective processes and improve operations, monitors cases and data dashboards, and coordinates with internal and external partners when patient access is at risk. The role works closely with HUB case managers, specialty pharmacy partners, and commercial specialty pharmacy teams to support authorizations, appeals, shipments, transitions, and patient care. It also collaborates with sales and clinical account colleagues and leads field initiatives in response to payer changes that affect access. UCB describes itself as a global biopharmaceutical company focused on neurology and immunology, with more than 9,000 employees. The company uses a hybrid-first approach; unless the job description states otherwise or the role’s nature precludes it, roles are hybrid with 40% of time spent in the office. UCB states that it is an equal opportunity employer and offers a supportive, inclusive culture with opportunities for employees to grow and develop their careers.
