About The Position

The Fast & Fresh Assistant Department Manager assists the Fast & Fresh Manager in setting department standards for customer service, employee relations, cleanliness, sanitation, professional appearance, and profitability. The role helps present quality products at competitive retail prices and supports daily department operations, including customer service, sales-area work, cash accountability, inventory, and employee supervision. The position is accountable to the listed store and department leaders and supervises Fast and Fresh Employees.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
High school education or more than one year of related work experience.
Ability to solve practical problems involving a variety of variables with limited standardization and interpret instructions.
Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Ability to file, post, and mail materials; copy data between records; interview to obtain basic information; and guide people and provide basic direction.
Ability to perform medium physical work, exerting up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Visual ability to see from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet, with or without correction, including depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach, stand, walk, pull, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, efficient, friendly customer service with care, concern, and patience.
Greet customers, learn and use their names when possible, and assist with product location, out-of-reach items, heavy items, and customer suggestions or requests.
Answer customer telephone calls promptly and provide helpful service.
Act on issues when the C-Store Manager is absent.
Fill displays and work in the sales area.
Perform departmental duties as needed.
Count cash drawers and maintain cash accountability records.
Assist the Fast & Fresh Department Manager with additional work and the monthly inventory process.
Instruct, assign, review, and plan the work of others; maintain standards and coordinate activities.
Attend meetings as required and complete other job-related duties and special projects.
Follow company policies and individual store guidelines, and report to work as scheduled and on time.
