About The Position

Alderney Health Home is seeking a Family Physician to provide Locum coverage from August 4th - 14th, 2026. This role involves delivering comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness. The physician will work with other providers in the clinic to ensure cross coverage and same-day access, and will utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) to document patient details in a provincially approved system accessible to all team members.

Requirements

• eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
• eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
• membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)

Responsibilities

• delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness
• work with other providers in the clinic to provide cross coverage and same-day access
• utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members

Benefits

• guaranteed daily minimum income of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 or half-day)
• additional shadow billings if above amount is exceeded.

• travel expenses (including air fare up to $1,500)
• travel time up to 10 hours per week
