About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their team in Centre, Alabama. The FNP will provide patient-focused care, including urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The role involves leading a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care environment. This opportunity is open to new graduates and offers comprehensive training, including an on-site HQ orientation, training shifts with experienced providers, a complimentary pediatric urgent care CE course, and an NP on-call for clinical support. The position allows FNPs to utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages from infants to geriatrics, which helps keep skills sharp and enhances marketability. The FNP will act as the primary medical provider on the team, with support from medical assistants and treatment protocols. The role also involves supporting rural communities that have limited access to care, with clinics open 362 days a year. Many clinics qualify for tuition reimbursement or student loan reimbursement grants, and the company assists with the application process. This role is described as a "rocket ship" for career growth, with a two-year commitment expected from the provider.

Requirements

  • Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
  • Standard pre-employment background checks and drug screens are performed.

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Perform minor procedures such as toenail removal and foreign object removal.
  • Suture and splint.
  • Conduct general orthopedic evaluations and management.
  • Review x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist).
  • Address general dermatology and general eye problems.
  • Perform general EKG interpretations.
  • Utilize emergency management skills.
  • Apply general GYN expertise.
  • Treat children of all ages.
  • Provide occupational medicine services.
  • Conduct telemedicine appointments.
