About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their growing team in Smithfield, NC. The role focuses on providing patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-volume urgent care environment. Services include urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The FNP will lead a small team and is suitable for new graduates, with comprehensive training and ongoing support provided, including a complimentary pediatric urgent care course and on-call provider assistance for clinical decision-making. This position allows FNPs to utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages from infants to geriatrics, which helps maintain and enhance clinical skills. The role emphasizes leadership, with FNPs acting as the primary medical provider in the clinic, supported by treatment protocols and medical assistants whom they will mentor. The clinics serve rural communities with limited access to care, operating 362 days a year. Requirements

  • Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
  • Are you DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (we cover the cost of the certification)?

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnosing and treating cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Performing minor procedures (toenail removal, foreign object removal, etc.).
  • Suturing.
  • Splinting.
  • General Orthopedic evaluations/management.
  • Review of x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist, too).
  • General Dermatology.
  • General eye problems.
  • General EKG interpretations.
  • Emergency management skills.
  • General GYN expertise.
  • Treating children of all ages.
  • Occupational medicine.
  • Telemedicine.
