About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their team in Selma, Alabama. This role focuses on providing patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-volume urgent care environment. The FNP will be responsible for leading a small team and providing a wide range of services including urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The position is open to new graduates and offers extensive support, including on-site orientation, training shifts, a complimentary pediatric urgent care CE course, and an NP on-call for clinical support. FNPs will utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages from infants to geriatrics, which helps keep skills sharp and enhances marketability. The role emphasizes leadership, with the FNP acting as the primary medical provider in the clinic, supported by treatment protocols and a team of medical assistants. The position also supports rural communities by providing accessible care and offers potential eligibility for tuition reimbursement or student loan reimbursement grants. This role is described as a "rocket ship build" for career success, with a two-year commitment expected from the provider.

Requirements

Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required.
MSN, or higher education required.
DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (company covers cost).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
Diagnosing and treating cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
Performing minor procedures (toenail removal, foreign object removal, etc.).
Suturing.
Splinting.
General Orthopedic evaluations/management.
Review of x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist, too).
General Dermatology.
General eye problems.
General EKG interpretations.
Emergency management skills.
General GYN expertise.
Treating children of all ages.
Occupational medicine.
Telemedicine.
