As we continue to expand, we are seeking a dynamic Facilities Manager to help manage the day-to-day facilities needs of our locations throughout the DMV.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on facilities, maintenance, or R&M experience, ideally in a multi-unit restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment.
  • Working knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment (ovens, Turbochefs, refrigeration, dish equipment) and basic plumbing/electrical systems.
  • Proven ability to perform repairs personally, not just manage them through vendors.
  • Good judgment for knowing when a task requires a licensed professional or specialty vendor.
  • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills; comfortable managing multiple contractor relationships at once.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; comfortable working across multiple locations and priorities.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between locations.
  • Flexibility to respond to urgent issues outside normal hours as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Visit restaurant locations daily to proactively identify and address facility and equipment issues.
  • Perform basic and intermediate repairs, including but not limited to: Replacing cords/plugs on kitchen equipment, Changing Turbochef belts and similar equipment components, Basic painting and tile repair/touch-up, Replacing gaskets on refrigeration and cooking equipment, Replacing T&S sprayers and fixing faucets, Other general plumbing, electrical, and light carpentry tasks within scope of a skilled generalist.
  • Diagnose issues accurately to determine whether a repair can be handled in-house or requires a licensed/specialized vendor.
  • Maintain a working toolkit and basic parts inventory to handle common repairs on the spot.
  • Identify, schedule, and coordinate outside vendors/contractors for repairs beyond in-house capability (e.g., HVAC, major electrical, plumbing, fire suppression, refrigeration compressors).
  • Obtain and compare quotes, ensure work is completed to standard, and verify invoices align with work performed.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with a reliable network of vendors across all markets.
  • Ensure vendors comply with safety, licensing, and insurance requirements.
  • Develop and manage a preventive maintenance schedule across all locations to reduce emergency repairs and equipment downtime.
  • Conduct regular facility walkthroughs/inspections, documenting issues and tracking them through resolution.
  • Ensure all locations meet health, safety, and cleanliness standards, and support readiness for health department inspections.
  • Track recurring issues by location and recommend longer-term fixes or capital improvements where needed.
  • Maintain clear records of facility issues, work orders, vendor visits, and costs by location.
  • Communicate proactively with restaurant managers and leadership on facility status, timelines, and priorities.
  • Manage facilities-related budget items, seeking cost-effective solutions without sacrificing quality or safety.
  • Respond to urgent facility issues promptly, including outside of standard business hours when needed.
