About The Position

The Facilities Manager keeps Protoshop’s equipment and infrastructure running and expanding to meet Amca’s program demands. The role coordinates machine maintenance and repairs, utility installations, fume extraction, and building construction across internal teams, contractors, and landlords, owning coordination through completion rather than necessarily performing all work personally. As Amca expands, the role may grow to lead facilities across multiple sites. This position is onsite five days a week in El Segundo, California.

The role requires at least three years of experience in facilities, maintenance, or industrial/manufacturing engineering in a production environment, along with experience coordinating equipment installations, utilities, and construction projects. Candidates should have working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, compressed air, ventilation, and machine maintenance, as well as strong project management skills. A bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering, or equivalent experience, is preferred. Experience in aerospace, defense, or other AS9100-regulated manufacturing; with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS); or with greenfield factory buildouts or multi-site expansion is also preferred.

The annual salary range is $105,000–$140,000 USD. The position requires U.S.-person status under ITAR. Amca prohibits discrimination and harassment on the protected bases listed in the posting.

Requirements

• U.S.-person status within the meaning of ITAR.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering, or equivalent experience.

• Hands-on, high-ownership approach and comfort building processes from scratch in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs on machinery and test equipment; manage service vendors, spare parts, and downtime escalations to maximize uptime.
• Plan and execute power drops, compressed air, fume extraction, and other utilities for new equipment, working with Protoshop engineers on requirements and timelines.
• Manage facility improvements and new-building buildouts, including scope, contractors, permits, budget, and schedule.
• Own building systems, including HVAC, electrical, compressed air, and fire protection, as well as landlord relationships and facility vendors.
• Maintain facility layout and equipment records, and support capacity and expansion planning.
• Partner with EHS to ensure installations and building changes meet code and safety requirements.
