About The Position

Access 2 Interpreters, LLC is seeking face-to-face interpreters who speak English and Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali, and/or Urdu. Interpreters assist people during medical, social service, and other appointments. This is in-person interpretation, not video or telephone interpretation. The role is suited to people seeking a flexible schedule: contractors choose their own hours and may accept as many or as few assignments as they wish. Assignments are available 24/7/365, though most are requested during business hours. Previous professional interpretation experience is not required, and applicants who speak English as a second language are welcome.

Requirements

• Be located in the Central Ohio area.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.
• Pass a federal criminal background check based on fingerprints and a 10-panel drug screening; these are provided at no cost to the applicant.
• Provide proof of completing at least 40 hours of interpreter training from an accredited program, such as Bridging the Gap, Access Academy, court interpretation training, or an interpretation certificate or degree from an accredited college or university.
• Provide certification of bilingual proficiency or pay for and complete a third-party bilingual fluency evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
• Speak English and Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali, and/or Urdu.
