Face to Face Interpreter – Vietnamese
About The Position
Access 2 Interpreters, LLC is hiring Vietnamese-English face-to-face interpreters to assist people during medical, social service, and other appointments. This is in-person interpretation, not video or telephone work. Assignments are available throughout the week, and most are requested during business hours. The role is offered on a contractor basis, with interpreters choosing their own schedules and accepting as many or as few available assignments as they wish. Previous professional interpreting experience is not required. The posting welcomes multilingual applicants and people who speak English as a second language.
Requirements
- Be located in the Central Ohio area.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be eligible to work in the United States.
- Pass a federal criminal background check based on fingerprints and a 10-panel drug screening.
- Provide proof of completion of at least 40 hours of interpreter training from an accredited program.
- Provide certification of bilingual proficiency or pay for and complete a third-party bilingual fluency evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
Responsibilities
- Provide face-to-face interpretation during medical, social service, and other appointments.
- Accept available assignments according to the interpreter’s chosen schedule.
