About The Position

Access 2 Interpreters, LLC is seeking an English and Berber interpreter to provide face-to-face interpretation—not video or telephone—during medical, social service, and other appointments. The company is based in Columbus, Ohio, and serves clients locally and nationwide. The role offers flexible scheduling: contractors choose their own schedules and may accept as many or as few available assignments as they wish. Assignments are available 24/7/365, although most are requested during business hours. Earnings depend on the number of assignments accepted. Applicants without previous professional interpreting experience and those who speak English as a second language are welcome.

Requirements

• Be located in the Central Ohio area.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.
• Pass a federal criminal background check based on fingerprints and a 10-panel drug screening.
• Provide proof of completion of at least 40 hours of interpreter training from an accredited program.
• Provide certification of bilingual proficiency or pay for and complete a third-party bilingual fluency evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
• Speak English and Berber.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face interpretation during medical, social service, and other appointments.
• Use English and Berber language skills to assist people who need interpretation.
• Choose a schedule and accept available assignments as desired.
