About The Position

Access 2 Interpreters, LLC is hiring Spanish-language interpreters for face-to-face assignments in the Central Ohio area. Interpreters use their bilingual skills to assist people during medical, social service, and other appointments. This is contractor work with a flexible, self-selected schedule; interpreters can accept as many or as few available assignments as they choose. Assignments are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, year-round, although most are requested during business hours. The company welcomes applicants without previous professional interpretation experience and those who speak English as a second language.

Requirements

• Must be located in the Central Ohio area.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Must pass a federal fingerprint-based criminal background check and a 10-panel drug screening; these are provided at no cost to the applicant.
• Must provide proof of completion of at least 40 hours of interpreter training through an accredited program, such as Bridging the Gap, Access 2 Interpreters’ Access Academy, court interpretation training, or an interpretation certificate or degree from an accredited college or university.
• Must provide certification of bilingual proficiency or pay for and complete a third-party bilingual fluency evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
• Must speak English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face interpretation during medical, social service, and other appointments.
• Accept and complete available interpretation assignments according to the interpreter’s chosen schedule.
