About The Position
TheKey is hiring experienced caregivers to provide private, in-home care to aging adults in Escondido and surrounding areas. Caregivers work one-to-one with clients in their homes, helping with daily activities and providing social and emotional support. TheKey describes its local teams as providing support to caregivers and its care as focused on promoting clients’ quality of life and well-being. The position offers full-time and part-time availability, weekday and weekend shifts, and daytime hours; the posting also says caregivers are currently being hired for all shifts. Pay starts at $20.00 per hour, with top rates of $23.00 per hour. A sign-on bonus of up to $750 is offered. Qualified caregivers can often begin working within 3–5 days after orientation. Requirements
- At least 6 months of professional caregiving experience.
- At least 18 years of age.
- California HCA registration, including meeting state background requirements; TheKey can help obtain registration upon hire.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a fully insured personal vehicle.
- TB clearance or chest X-ray.
- Must comply with state background screening requirements and be eligible to work in the United States.
- Applicants must meet California fingerprint identification requirements; a conditional offer will be rescinded if an applicant has been convicted of a non-exemptible crime, in accordance with applicable law.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients one-to-one with personal care, including dressing, bathing, grooming, and help with meals.
- Perform light housekeeping, including basic cleaning, laundry, and organizing.
- Drive clients to appointments, run errands, and shop for groceries.
- Provide companionship and social and emotional support through games, puzzles, or other activities.
